STUDY ABROAD IN FLORENCE, ITALY WITH AEF
ACADEMIC COURSES FOR CREDITS:
Accademia Europea di Firenze offers semester-long academic courses constituting transferable credits. Each course has 45 contact hours, which corresponds to 4 credits. It is also required to take an Italian Language Course of 180 or 72 hours; for these courses the amount of credits given varies according to each University. The Italian language courses are open to anyone from first-time speakers to near fluent speakers. All other courses are taught in English.
The AEF is dedicated to teaching the Arts and Sciences and is divided in four departments:
The disciplines offered by AEF are connected with the cultural heritage of Florence and its impact on European history. This cultural heritage has spread the fundamental principles of the modern arts and sciences throughout all of Europe. Our students will have a profound and detailed study of these disciplines by the end of their semester. With a rapidly growing sense of globalization prevalent in society, understanding the heritage and interconnectedness of Western history is crucial for students.
To offer challenging academic programs, we provide excellent professional and academic facilities to our students. Art and music studios with detailed personal instruction give students a sense of importance and purpose. AEF is committed to creating an academic and professional atmosphere to maximize the develop of students, maintained by the highest qualified faculty to analyze any single feature and discipline.
At AEF, teachers strive to teach students with verbalization in the classroom and through real life experience. For example, the Art History program is beloved by all students because the class is taken on field trips in Florence, Venice, Bologna, and other cities in Italy, to some of the most beautiful cathedrals and museums in the world. This speaks to a larger philosophy of teaching and learning with an enthusiastic, loving to learn attitude. AEF also works with various Florentine institutions, several concerts, exhibitions, and other public events where the arts and music students will share their experiences with the local population and with the other students of the school. AEF also offers group trips to different culturally significant events such as cooking classes, government buildings, and we even have our own soccer team each semester. The point is to build a cohesive and deep educational experience, rather than an unorganized trip with some required courses. This will enhance any student’s overall study abroad experience.
The Study Abroad Department of your University can contact us for more details through our contact form and we are also open to create new programs or courses tailor-made for groups coming from your University.
